A Relaxing Holiday

Progess-detail3

The past week has been good. Quiet, but relaxing and peaceful. Our family is scattered all over the place with my husband’s parents visiting India right now, his brother in Baltimore, and his sister and my family are all in Canada, so we were on our own for Christmas this year. It’s hard being so far away from family during the Holidays, but with everything going on with us right now, it was nice to be on our own and just relax. We spent a quite Christmas Eve at home with just us and our kitties. We cuddled up on the couch and watched our favorite Christmas movies: It’s a Wonderful Life for my hubby and Miracle of 34th Street for me, and then rounded off the evening with A Christmas Story marathon. We exchanged gifts at midnight and slept in on Christmas morning. Then, after lounging about all morning, we went to a movie in the afternoon and had a lovely dinner with another couple. We had a great meal, played games and just relaxed.Β It was the laziest Christmas ever. And it was perfect.

My lazy Holiday continued through the entire weekend with a few get-togethers with friends and I made a little progress on my painting. The attached image is the lower left/center portion of the painting. I still have quite a bit of work left but I wanted to share how it’s coming along. My goal is to be done by my birthday on January 4th as a birthday present to myself.

Now it’s time for New Years! Woohoo!! I am so thrilled to be putting 2013 behind us. There have been some good things in 2013, but all in all it was a terrible year, and I’m so ready to move into 2014! I’m feeling that this is going to THE year. I don’t know exactly what that means yet, but I just feel that it’s going to be a good year. Perhaps it’s the hope that I’m clinging to like a life preserver that has me feeling so optimistic, I don’t know, but I’m going with it. Praying 2014 is a better year for all of us on here. We all need a better year!

  1. You are an amazing artist! As an accountant, this kind of vision and talent is so foreign to me. I can’t wait to see your finished piece, it is already incredibly moving and brings on tears of hurt and hope all at the same time. I’m so ready for 2014. I have a feeling it will be a defining year. Oh also, your lazy Christmas sounds delightful! Cheers! Xo.
