FET Schedule

I met with Dr. J today, and everything looked good on the ultrasound and blood test, so we’re a go!

Here’s the schedule the nurse gave me:

Jan 8th – Jan 13th:
2 mg Estrace (Estradiol) morning and night (2/day- orally)

Jan 14th – 18th:
2 mg Estrace (Estradiol) morning, noon and night (3/day – orally)

Jan 17th:
Monitoring Appointment to make sure I didn’t ovulate.

Dr. J said 85% of women taking estrogen won’t ovulate. We want me to NOT ovulate. If I do ovulate, even on the estrogen, we’ll have to stop this cycle and start over next cycle, but with suppressant injections of Lupron.

Why not just do the suppressant injections now?

I asked Dr. J this and he said he would rather not give me any more hormones then necessary so we’re trying just the estrogen for now. So fingers crossed the estrogen works and I don’t ovulate!

If I don’t ovulate, then we’ll continue with the cycle with the following protocol:

Jan 19th – until determined:
2 mg Estrace (Estradiol) morning and night (2/day – orally)
200 mg Progesterone capsules morning, noon and night (3/day – vaginally)

Jan 22nd
Azithromycin – to prevent infection from the transfer procedure

Jan 24th:
FET Transfer – Woohoo!!!
Go home and put feet up and rest 🙂
They’ll be going over the entire process of the procedure with me a few days before the procedure. I’ll write more about it once I know more details.

Jan 25th:
I was told I can resume regular activities the next day, but to take it easy. We have a wedding to go to on the 25th. It’s a 2 hour drive away. I discussed it with the nurse and she said this would be totally fine, but to not overdue it. So no letting loose on the dancefloor or anything. I’m okay with that. I got a pair of fabulous Steve Madden 4 inch heels for my birthday that I was planning to wear, but think I should stick to flats just to be safe. Oh well, another time. Oh and no drinking, but that one was obvious 🙂

So there it is, our FET plan! I’m so excited, I can barely contain it! I’m not sure when I can test, but since there won’t be an HCG trigger shot, I think I could probably do a FRER after a few days, but I’ll discuss it with Dr. J to confirm. I’m sure they’ll schedule me to come in for a beta sometime after the transfer too. So that’s if for now! The next milestone will be next Friday to confirm I didn’t ovulate! I never thought I’d pray to not ovulate, but here I am doing just that! Come on body, don’t let me down now!

  1. Oh my goodness!! THIS IS SO EXCITING!!! 🙂 The 24th is soooo soon!! You’ve been waiting so long for this and I’ll be praying for you! I’ll be your prayer warrior for the next few weeks. 🙂

  2. How exciting!! Just went through that process. I will be praying for you! You are such a positive and inspiring woman!

    1. 🙁 oh, I’m so sorry to hear that! Praying the next round works! I’m really scared I won’t get pregnant either, but trying really hard to not think about it right now. After PGD, we only got the one normal embryo. The rest were all abnormal, so we don’t have anymore. It would mean starting all over, and after all the losses we’ve had, I just don’t know if I have the strength to do this all over again!

        1. Thanks hon! I’m just about to write an update! But thought I’d share with you first 🙂 All is good. We’re a go for next week! I’m so excited and nervous at the same time!

  3. Been thinking about you the last couple of days. I hope your appointment goes just as you’d like it to today! Hugs, hugs, hugs no matter what. Take care!

    1. Thank you so much hon <3 It did go well! So far all is good and we're set to do the transfer next Friday morning (Jan 24th)! I'll be thinking about you too. Hope everything goes well tomorrow and fingers crossed you get lots of eggs and they all fertilize!
