FET is a go!!!

First of all, thank you all for your support and encouragement, and thank you especially to those of you who checked in with me before my appointment today to wish me well. All your positive thoughts and wishes have really helped me through this long wait! I’m sorry I took all day to report back on my appointment. I just haven’t had a spare moment to sit down and write until now! I had a lunch date with a couple girlfriends after my appointment, then I had several errands to run, and work to do when I got back home. Then I was finally sitting down to write my update about an hour ago when my hubby got home from work and distracted me. He’s off to a weekend long bachelor party camping trip up at Big Bear Mountain so I wanted to spend a few minutes with him before he left. He was so happy he was practically giddy. He walked in the house and picked me up off the couch and asked “We’re good?”. He already knew because I had texted him earlier in the day, but and I laughed and said, “Yes, we’re good! We’re a go!”, and then he hugged me and whirled me around the room. If felt so good to just be happy. I think the joy of knowing we’re moving forward and the excitement of the upcoming weekend with the boys had him in an especially great mood. It makes me so happy to see him that excited and happy. God knows he’s had his share of sorrow too. He just doesn’t show it like I do. So anyway, he’s now off and up to no good with the boys no doubt, but he really deserves a weekend away like this. And now for my update…

My monitoring appointment with Dr. J today went well and so far so good! My lining was 7.10 mm. Dr. J said anything above 7 mm is good for the transfer, but the thicker the better so the fact that I’m already over 7mm is great. I read on a few other sites that 9 mm is the goal, so hopefully I’ll get there by next week. At any rate, I’m at least already at the minimum. So phew, that’s one relief! My ovaries were also good. Nice and calm just how we wanted them this cycle and my blood work was also good. So we’re good! My appointment is booked for 10:15 am on Friday, January 24th. It’s actually happening! Yay!! Only one more week to wait! Well for this part anyway. We never really stop waiting do we?

The prep for the transfer is surprisingly really simple. I’ll continue with the Estrace 3 times per day for today and tomorrow and then go back down to morning and night doses on Sunday. I’ll also start the Progesterone tablets, vaginally, 3 times per day on Sunday, and I’ll continue this until I’m 12 weeks pregnant. That’s what the nurse said, “until you’re 12 weeks pregnant”, not if you get pregnant, but when! 🙂 I love her optimism! Oh, please please let it be true! The only other medication I’ll have to take are 4 antibiotics the day before (2 at noon and 2 in the evening), and this is just to protect me against any possible infection from the procedure. That’s basically it. On the big day, I’ll have to empty my bladder before I leave the house, and then start slowly drinking water to get my bladder full for the transfer. This will be the hardest part because I’ll have to wait a while afterward before I can go pee, but I’m usually pretty good at holding my pee so hopefully I’ll be okay. All of this is definitely doable! The Estrace has made me really tired and a little queasy so I’m dreading what the progesterone is going to do, but I’ll take all of it and so much more if it means a successful transfer and pregnancy!

One more week, and then… Oh please, please, please.
